Introduction Blink One |
IntroductionThese tutorials instruct the reader in the use of the C programming language. We will use the student version of the Microchip® C18 compiler for the PIC18F family of micro controllers. The totorials consist of web pages, Open Office doucments, and downloadable MPLAB projects. Required Software and Hardware
These tutorials were written using MPLAB® version 8. It is suggested that the Junebug programmer/debugger be used with these tutorials. This unit is a clone of the PICkit2® with an onboard PIC18F1320 target that can be used in most lessons. The Junebug is recommended but not required.
The PIC18F series was chosen over the PIC16F series because it is better suited to the C language and Microchip provides a free compiler Although it is not suggested you can use an ICD2 in place of the PICkit2®/Junebug. The use of RS232 based version of the ICD2 is discouraged because it may result frustration due to slowness. |
